Erbitux Rash – UGH!
ARGGGHHHH! This acne rash is out of control! My face and chest are nearly completely covered. And it hurts to boot. After some research I’ve done online, I believe my rash is a bit worse than expected, but at least I don’t have any other side effects, yet. I actually feel great, very healthy and able to work a full day. But I look for reasons not to leave the house because my face is one big pimply itchy mess.
Yesterday during my 3rd Erbitux infusion, the nurses were excited to see I had the “rash” because it supposedly means it’s WORKING! But later in the treatment, they all had that look of concern as they cautioned me that if it got any worse they might have to cut back on the chemo a bit.
To be honest, I’ve been a miserable cancer fighter for the past few days. Seeing myself in the mirror is just depressing as hell. Seems like everytime I think “this is as bad as it will get”, it gets worse.

You are NOT a miserable cancer fighter. Your body is busy fighting cancer, and that doesn’t always look so pretty. I know rashes are one of the side effects that can make chemo pretty miserable, I didn’t have it but many I knew had it. I hope your skin will “cool” down so you can continue on with the chemo, 4 weeks left to go, right? Keep your eye on the end date. I know, easy for me to say, but it won’t be long and it really will all be behind you. I promise. I remember when they told me that having bad side effects meant it was working, that was good, but I was still miserable.
Hang in there. Vern says you’re still the best looking drummer he’s ever known. ha. ha.

Hummmm…we both believe in Karma, and I think you are getting the rash now because you bypassed it as a teenager
Seriously, with the body’s natural healing power, you will probably have a cleaner/clearer complexion after this ordeal. We should look at some “before-after” pics.
It’s all good in the hood Brother,

Next up your voice will drop and you’ll get hair in your pits – so there is an upside.
